The AMS Academy, how does it work?
Through our purpose built Academy, students and graduates will have the opportunity to join our multi-year programme, working and studying towards professional qualifications in accountancy or tax.
Based in our Manchester Head Office, you will attend college for ‘off the job’ training through the accredited external provider and ‘on the job’ training in the division you work in.
In addition, you will be assigned a mentor to support you in your development, a formal development plan from your manager and a buddy to help you settle into working life @ AMS.

What are we looking for?
Our Academy is seeking to attract school leavers (18+) and graduates who want to pursue a career in accountancy or tax and have the following attributes:

• Good with numbers
Attitude is as important as qualifications to us, so we are looking for positive individuals who have a can do attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. Our Academy team of today are our potential leaders of the future.
What qualifications are needed?
A minimum of:
• 3 ’A’ levels at Grades A*-C, OR
• An equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification
Plus:
• 4 GCSE’s at grades A*-C / grades 9-4
including English and Maths
Your career path at AMS
The table below shows the qualifications you will be studying for as well as an indication of the likely industry type roles as your career progresses in your chosen profession.
Following completion of your professional qualifications with AMS you will then have the option to move into an Assistant Manager or similar role and be able to progress your career with us up to Director level. Once fully qualified in either accountancy or tax industry earnings potentials can be up to £40,000-45,000.
Year 1 is the ‘A’ Level / NVQ qualified entry stage, and Year 4 is the degree qualified entry stage for accountancy and Year 3 for tax.
*Some students may enter a Fast Track Stream where qualifications are attained in a shorter timeframe. We may also offer the opportunity to study for the ACA qualification if appropriate.

Applications need to be in by the 31st May 2023. Please note that you will need to be available to attend an assessment day which are being held on 5th July 2023.
What happens next?
Following the application closing date on 31st May 2023, AMS will process all applications and short list candidates to attend an assessment day in July 2023. Please note if you are not contacted by 23rd June 2023, then your application was unsuccessful.
